La capacitación de QWEL será facilitada en vivo a través de Zoom por dos de nuestros instructores certificados de QWEL que son altamente calificados y está disponible para profesionales que viven o trabajan en el área de servicio del California Water Service*.

La versión en línea cubrirá las todas secciones del manual de referencia QWEL. Esto incluye temas sobre suelos y principios de diseño sostenible, necesidades de agua de las plantas, mantenimiento de sistemas de riego, y programación y operación del sistema de riego.

La capacitación en línea de QWEL se ofrecerá en sesiones NOCHES de 2.5 horas durante dos semanas:

• lunes, 17 de abril - jueves, 20 de abril; 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

PRESENTADOR: Jaime Bayona

Jaime Bayona tiene una amplia experiencia en proyectos de irrigación tanto en agricultura como en jardinería. Con más de 35 años en la industria verde, incluyendo 18 años como instructor y especialista en manejo del agua, Jaime tiene una valiosa experiencia en diseño de todo tipo y tamaño de sistemas de riego, instalación y mantenimiento.   Jaime posee varias certificaciones de la Irrigation Association, en donde también se desempeña como instructor: Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA), Certified Irrigation Contractor (CIC), Certified Golf Irrigation Auditor (CGIA), Certified Irrigation Designer (CID - both, Residential & Commercial), Certified Landscape Water Manager (CLWM), Certified Agriculture Irrigation Specialist (CAIS), Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor - Drip Specialty (CLIA-D), Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT), y una certificación del programa QWEL (área de San Diego, CA.)  En Julio del 2011, Jaime completó el programa de dos años de Agricultural Leadership - Clase 40, y es parte del programa EPA WaterSense™ Partner. Jaime posee también un título como Ingeniero Agrícola de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia en Bogotá, y estuvo adelantando un programa de maestría en ingeniería ambiental en la ciudad de Guayaquil (Ecuador), en donde también diseñó e instaló varios proyectos de agricultura y jardinería. Actualmente Jaime Bayona trabaja como instructor para la empresa Ewing Irrigation desde el año 2005, en donde además también hace soporte técnico.  Jaime reside en la ciudad de Murrieta, en California.

PRESENTADOR: Christopher Reamer

Desde que comenzó a trabajar en 2009 construyendo sistemas de aguas para una empresa local hasta el lanzamiento de sus propios negocios independientes de diseño / construcción y educación, Christopher Reamer ha trabajado extensamente con el conservación del agua de los jardines. Galardonado con el premio "Conciencia del agua del año" para empresas en 2013 de la ciudad de Santa Rosa, Christopher ha forjado diversas alianzas en la esfera alternativa del agua y está emocionado de llevar este trabajo imperativo a una audiencia más amplia.

The QWEL training will be facilitated live over Zoom by two of our highly rated QWEL certified instructors and is available to professionals conducting business or employed in California Water Service's service area. 

The online training will cover all sections of the QWEL reference manual. This includes topics on soil and sustainable design principles, plant water needs, irrigation system maintenance, and irrigation system programming and operation. 

Attendees are encouraged to download the manual for free here or purchase a paperback copy from Amazon here prior to the class. 

In order to obtain QWEL certification, individuals must complete an irrigation audit (in class) and pass the QWEL exam (offered the week of May 1st). Exams will be administered online, and students will be required to pay an exam fee (approximately $32.50).

Those who earn their QWEL certification will be listed as a Certified Professional on the QWEL and U.S. EPA WaterSense websites.

By registering for this class, you are committing to attend all eight of the 2.5 hour sessions. The QWEL exam will be offered the week of May 1st.

PRESENTER: Jaime Bayona

Jaime Bayona has an extensive background in both agricultural and landscape irrigation. With nearly 35 years in the Green Industry and 18 years serving as an instructor and water management specialist, Jaime has substantial experience designing, installing, and managing large irrigation projects. Jaime has several certifications from The Irrigation Association: Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA), Certified Irrigation Contractor (CIC), Certified Golf Irrigation Auditor (CGIA), Certified Irrigation Designer (CID - both, Residential & Commercial), Certified Landscape Water Manager (CLWM), Certified Agriculture Irrigation Specialist (CAIS), Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor - Drip Specialty (CLIA-D), Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT), and a Certification as a Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper QWEL (San Diego Water Agencies). In July 2011, Jaime completed the Agricultural Leadership – 2 years Program - Class 40, and he is also an EPA WaterSense™ Partner.  Jaime Bayona holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the National University of Colombia in Bogotá. During 2000 – 2001 related to the Environmental Engineering master program in Guayaquil (Ecuador), where he also designed and installed several projects for agriculture and landscaping.  Since 2005 Jaime Bayona works for Ewing Irrigation  as irrigation instructor and technical support.  Jaime is based out of Murrieta, California.

PRESENTER: Christopher Reamer

Since the launch of his independent eco-landscape contracting firm in 2011, Christopher Reamer has worked extensively throughout California at the cutting edge of landscape water conservation. Awarded the "Water Awareness of the Year” award in 2013 from the City of Santa Rosa for extensive work with the development of greywater, rainwater and high-efficiency irrigation systems, Chris has instructed over 40 landscape water conservation trainings in both English and Spanish, installed over 60 greywater irrigation systems and numerous water efficient landscapes for diverse clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
